Defence Minister Ermal Nufi met Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Yohei Wakabayashi to discuss international and regional security developments. They also discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral defence and security cooperation.
Nufi said Albania considers Japan an important partner. He said the two countries can expand cooperation through expert exchanges, stronger contacts between institutions and the armed forces, and joint activities.
Meanwhile, Nufi highlighted the need to build new areas of cooperation between the two countries. He said Albania and Japan aim to deepen their partnership through humanitarian assistance, peace support operations and efforts to strengthen resilience against emerging security threats.
