Albania and Vietnam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on employment cooperation, creating a framework for recruiting and employing Vietnamese workers in Albania.
Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj and Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Public Security Vũ Chiến Thắng signed the agreement during a ceremony held in Vietnam, with representatives from both countries’ institutions attending.
The memorandum establishes cooperation between the two countries on identifying labour market needs, selecting and preparing workers, and organising recruitment and employment procedures.
Moreover, the agreement ensures that both countries respect national legislation and international standards for protecting workers’ rights.
Ibrahimaj said Albania’s economy continues to grow steadily, supported by tourism development, private investment and expanding activity in strategic sectors.
“Albania is experiencing an important phase of economic development, which has significantly increased demand for workers in key sectors. This memorandum creates regular, safe and transparent channels to meet these needs while protecting workers’ rights and supporting Albanian businesses,” Ibrahimaj said.
Following the agreement, Albania and Vietnam will prepare a joint action plan to define cooperation mechanisms, recruitment procedures, training standards and monitoring measures.
The two sides also discussed organising an Albania–Vietnam Economic and Employment Forum. The platform will connect institutions and businesses from both countries and encourage direct cooperation between Albanian employers and Vietnamese partners.
The memorandum marks an important step in strengthening economic relations between Albania and Vietnam while addressing labour market needs and supporting Albania’s economic competitiveness.
