Ermal Nufi welcomed Cosmin Dobran in Tirana on Thursday.
The meeting focused on the Security and Defense Partnership between Albania and the European Union.
Both sides described the partnership as an important platform for structured cooperation. Albania reaffirmed its commitment to continuing dialogue and achieving concrete results.
Meanwhile, Nufi stressed that Albania remains a reliable partner for European security.
He also reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between the EU and NATO.
Furthermore, Nufi said Albania is fully aligned with the EU’s foreign and security policy.
The talks also highlighted Albania’s contribution to peacekeeping missions and EU crisis-management operations.
In addition, Albania contributes a 125-member light infantry company to the European Union Battlegroups under Italian leadership.
The Albanian Armed Forces have also increased their presence in EUFOR Althea through the deployment of a platoon.
Meanwhile, Albanian Coast Guard vessels continue supporting efforts to manage irregular migration in the Aegean Sea. Although the mission operates under NATO command, Albania also assists the EU in strengthening maritime security and tackling illegal migration.
