Albania has joined the European Council of Legal and Forensic Medicine (ECLFM), the highest European body for forensic medicine.
Justice Minister Toni Gogu said the membership strengthens Albania’s position within the European forensic medicine community and creates new opportunities for professional and scientific development.
Through this membership, Albania will officially participate in the European body, contribute to the development of standards for autopsies, crime scene investigations and forensic expertise, and take part in international research projects and working groups.
Gogu added that the cooperation with European institutions will improve training opportunities for Albanian specialists and increase the international recognition of the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
He described the membership as an important step that brings Albania closer to European standards and strengthens the quality of forensic expertise in support of justice.
