The Ministry of Economy and Innovation has launched a fully automated platform to support small and medium-sized businesses applying to the “Double Your Enterprise” program.
Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said the platform simplifies the application process. It also assists businesses at every stage, from expressing interest to preparing their applications for submission to a bank. Through the e-Albania portal, businesses can select the “Expression of interest for ‘Double Your Enterprise’” service and start the process online. They must first provide the required information, including their NIPT business identification number and their planned investment concept or idea. The platform also allows them to track their application status and the related decision-making process.
Meanwhile, the ministry helps businesses prepare the required documents. The aim is to ensure that applicants have complete information and a preliminary assessment when they approach a bank for a loan. Ibrahimaj said interest in the program has remained high since its launch. More than 1,700 businesses have expressed interest. Of these, 720 are currently being processed by the ministry team.
Business data show that most applicants want to expand or modernize their activities. Some 57% plan to expand their operations. Another 21% intend to invest in machinery and equipment. The “Double Your Enterprise” program aims to improve access to financing for small and medium-sized businesses. It provides a state sovereign guarantee for loans of up to 2 million euros, with maturities of up to 10 years.
The new platform integrates this support into an online process. Businesses can submit applications and track their progress. They can also receive assistance throughout the process. The “Double Your Enterprise” program aims to create more opportunities for Albanian businesses to invest, expand their activities and increase their capacities.
