Albania Prepares for a Vibrant Weekend of Festivals, Concerts and Sports Events

Cities across Albania will host a wide range of cultural, entertainment, and sporting events this weekend, offering activities for residents and visitors of all ages.

One of the highlights is the Wheat Festival in Fier, which takes place at the Archaeological Park of Apollonia on Friday evening. Now in its eighth edition, the festival will feature performances by the band Elita 5, the “Myzeqeja” Folk Ensemble, and several well-known Albanian artists. The program also includes a traditional costume parade and an exhibition of agricultural vehicles.

Meanwhile, the city of Berat will host the “Firefly Festival,” a two-day celebration featuring live music, cultural activities, and family-friendly entertainment.

On June 20, Kavaja will organize the Kavaja Code Fest. The event will include an innovation fair during the day, followed by a gala evening at the city’s cultural center.

On Saturday, the coastal city of Durrës will welcome music lovers to the “Triangle – From Stone to Concrete” concert, featuring violinist Olen Cesari and DJ Charles B.

Pogradec will also mark the International Day of Music with a concert dedicated to the city’s famous serenades. Activities will continue on Sunday with a photography exhibition, canoeing, and a lakeside environmental cleanup. At the same time, the city will host the Illyrian Triathlon, Albania’s national triathlon championship.

The weekend celebrations will conclude in Tirana, where the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet will organize a special open-air concert in Skanderbeg Square to celebrate the International Day of Music.

Together, these events showcase Albania’s rich cultural life and offer visitors a diverse mix of music, tradition, innovation, sports, and outdoor activities.
