Albania signs EU4FoodSafety project to boost food safety standards

Andis Salla and German Ambassador Karl Bergner signed the EU4FoodSafety agreement in Tirana.

The European Union and the German government co-finance the project. It strengthens food safety standards in Albania and improves consumer protection.

Salla calls the project a key step toward EU integration. He says it marks progress in aligning Albania with European standards.

He states that Albania works to meet requirements in EU negotiation chapters on agriculture, food safety, and fisheries. He emphasizes the goal of building a modern, reliable, and competitive food safety system.

The project strengthens inspection systems and improves product quality. It also supports safer food for consumers and better access for Albanian products in European markets.
