Albania Strengthens Commitment to Health Emergency Management

Albania has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its capacity to manage health emergencies and expanding cooperation with international partners to protect public health.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced that representatives signed the Istanbul Declaration during the ministerial conference of the World Health Organization titled “Advancing Health Security through Earthquake Emergency Management” in Istanbul.

By signing the declaration, Albania joined international efforts to improve preparedness and response mechanisms for health emergencies, particularly those linked to natural disasters such as earthquakes.

Furthermore, the Istanbul Declaration aims to strengthen international coordination and cooperation in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery, helping countries enhance public health resilience and crisis management capacities.

The initiative reflects Albania’s ongoing efforts to build a more effective health emergency system and to deepen collaboration with global partners in safeguarding public health.
