Albania Strengthens Dialogue on Protection of Disabled Persons’ Rights

Ombudsman Hosts Italian Activist Maximiliano Ulivieri on Disability Rights The Ombudsman of Albania held an official meeting with Italian activist Maximiliano Ulivieri, a global advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities.

Ulivieri was accompanied by activist Suela Lala from the “Së Bashku” foundation and UNFPA representative Elsona Agolli.

The meeting focused on strengthening the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Albania. The Ombudsman praised Ulivieri for his strong and dedicated work in this field.

He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen lives with dignity and enjoys equal rights. He stressed that the Ombudsman remains firmly engaged in protecting human rights and promoting equality.

During the discussion, participants highlighted the need for a more inclusive and fair society. They also emphasized cooperation between institutions, civil society, and international organizations.

The meeting was described as an important step toward advancing disability rights and social inclusion in Albania.
