Albania striker Rey Manaj said the team must start strongly against San Marino and seek an early goal in their UEFA Nations League match.
Further, Manaj said Albania should focus on scoring regardless of how the goals come. He recalled the recent match against Andorra, when Albania scored late. The striker said the team should aim to score earlier and add more goals against San Marino.
Meanwhile, Manaj praised the squad’s improvement and team spirit. He said the players put the team’s interests ahead of personal goals.
Manaj also discussed the possibility of breaking his personal scoring record. He said that achievement would be welcome, but Albania’s victory remains his priority. He added that he scored 5 goals last year and has now overcome the injury problems that previously affected his consistency.
Albania will face San Marino this Tuesday at 20:45 at Air Albania Stadium in Tirana. The match is valid for the UEFA Nations League.
