Defence Minister Ermal Nufi attended the Central European and Western Balkans Defence Cooperation (CEDC) Ministerial, which focused on strengthening regional cooperation in defence and security. The meeting brought together senior representatives of participating countries to discuss joint capabilities, common security challenges and threats, and coordination of policies and efforts within the European Union framework. Nufi stressed Albania’s continued commitment to regional defence and security cooperation.
Nufi said Albania supports joint efforts for peace, stability and the European perspective of the Western Balkans. He said the country is working closely with allies and partners to contribute to a safer, more stable and more united European security environment.
The CEDC is a defence cooperation platform involving Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia. Slovenia holds the presidency this year. Poland has observer status in the format. The platform provides a framework for participants to discuss, develop and promote common defence and security interests.
