Albania welcomes US-Iran ceasefire, urges inclusive dialogue

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs welcomed the two-day ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, aimed at paving the way for a sustainable resolution to the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

In an official statement, the Ministry highlighted Albania’s consistent support for de-escalation, restraint, and meaningful dialogue.

The Ministry noted that disruptions to global energy supplies, including instability around the Strait of Hormuz, continue to affect economies worldwide, emphasizing the urgency of restoring stability and ensuring free maritime trade.

“We value the constructive role played by Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia in supporting efforts to reduce tensions and promote dialogue,” the Ministry added.

Albania stressed that respecting the ceasefire and engaging in good-faith negotiations toward a comprehensive and lasting solution will directly contribute to regional stability, security, and peace.
