Albanian animated film “The Fight for Life” to undergo restoration

The Albanian animated film “The Fight for Life”, produced in 1981, will undergo restoration through the “Adopt a Film for Restoration” initiative.

Doctors Rubin and Ilir Topi have joined the initiative led by the Central State Film Archive. They chose to restore the film in memory of their father, doctor and writer Flamur Topi.

Flamur Topi and Luan Rama wrote the screenplay, while Vlash Droboniku directed the film.

The creative team also included composer Diana Ziu, cinematographers Tomi Vaso and Faruk Basha, painter Vlash Droboniku, editor Shpresa Papapavllo and voice actor Vangjel Leka.

Moreover, the Central State Film Archive thanked the Topi family for helping preserve and restore an important part of Albania’s cinematic heritage.

The “Adopt a Film for Restoration” initiative remains open to individuals, families and institutions. They can support the restoration of films from Albania’s national film collection.
