Albanian ballet production “Carmen” to be staged in Bologna

TIRANA, May 19 – After strong success with four performances that sold out in record time, the ballet “Carmen” travels to Italy. It will be staged at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

Meanwhile, performances are scheduled for 23 and 24 May. The production marks an important step in promoting Albanian art and culture internationally. In Bologna, Albanian artists will present energy, elegance and professionalism in a production that first premiered in Tirana.

In addition, the original run at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania featured four consecutive nights of standing ovations and strong audience emotion. The production brought performances by Anbeta Toromani, Adela Muçollari, Alessandro Macario, Dion Gjinika and Luca Curreli.

Finally, the theatre reported seven sold-out performances in the first two weeks of May. More than 5400 spectators attended the shows.
