Albanian Cinema Icon Reshat Arbana Celebrates 86th Birthday

Reshat Arbana celebrates his 86th birthday today. He remains one of the most important figures in Albanian cinema and theatre.

Arbana was born in Tirana on September 15, 1940. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts and began his artistic career in theatre.

He later became one of Albania’s best-known film actors. His distinctive voice, strong stage presence and ability to bring depth to his characters made him a prominent figure in Albanian cinema.

Some of his best-known films include “Silent Duel,” “General Gramophone,” “Shadows That Remain,” “November Second,” “The Warm Hand,” “When the Doors of Life Open,” “Traces in the Blue,” “Cut Threads” and “Sounds of War.”

Arbana has also appeared in dozens of theatre productions and television projects throughout his long career.

His contribution to Albanian art has earned him numerous important titles and awards. His work has established him as one of the most prominent names on the Albanian stage and screen.

Just days ago, Arbana received a Career Award during the opening night of the National Albanian Film Festival.
