TIRANA, July 16 – Albania’s Infrastructure and Energy Minister, Enea Karakaçi, met Ireland’s Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment, Darragh O’Brien, to discuss closer bilateral cooperation.
Karakaçi said the meeting focused on renewable energy. He highlighted battery development as a key area for future cooperation. He added that Ireland’s successful experience makes it a valuable partner for Albania.
Meanwhile, the ministers also discussed the aviation sector. They exchanged views on potential cooperation based on Ireland’s expertise. They also referred to Ryanair’s growing role in both the European and Albanian markets.
In addition, the two officials reviewed Albania’s European Union accession process. Karakaçi welcomed Ireland’s continued support. He also stressed the importance of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in advancing common European priorities.
Karakaçi is in New York to attend the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the United Nations headquarters.
