TIRANA, April 16 – Schools “Edith Durham” in Tirana and “Besëlidhja” in Lezha hosted the final of the fourth National Albanian Language Competition on Thursday. Albania’s Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro attended the event together with Kosova’s Minister of Education Hajrulla Çeku.
Kumbaro praised students, teachers and parents for their participation throughout the competition cycle. She said the initiative promotes the Albanian language and strengthens its role in education systems on both sides of the border.
Authorities announced a joint Albanian language Olympiad [contest] with Kosova. Organisers said the programme will deepen cooperation in language education and expand shared academic activities between the two education systems.
Kumbaro said education cooperation with Kosova continues to grow through joint curricula and coordinated programmes. She added that institutions aim to support wider use of Albanian in formal education and diaspora learning frameworks.
