TIRANA, July 22 – Albanian Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi met representatives of the United States Congress and the POPVOX Foundation, a U.S.-based civic technology organization.
The meeting took place during a regional workshop on parliamentary modernization through artificial intelligence, hosted by Albanian Parliament.
Representatives from the parliaments of Kosova, North Macedonia, Serbia and Moldova were also taking part in the workshop. Participants exchanged experiences and good practices on the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary work.
They also discussed how new technologies can improve efficiency and transparency, and highlighted the role of digital tools in expanding citizens’ access to parliamentary information.
Speaker Peleshi told the Albanian Parliament has taken concrete steps toward digitalization. He added that the institution aims to become one of the leading parliaments in the region for technology-based modernization.
The meeting also highlighted cooperation between Albania and the United States. Participants welcomed continued support for strengthening institutional capacities and advancing parliamentary modernization.
