Albanian State Police denies claims that Serbian officers joined its ranks

Albania’s State Police has dismissed social media reports claiming that Serbian police officers have joined its ranks. The force described the allegations as false and malicious.

The police said the claims seek to exploit nationalist sentiment, stir tensions and undermine public trust. It warned that such allegations could fuel conflict within society.

The State Police clarified that only its own officers took part in the gathering on October 15, 2026. Officers carried out their duties according to an established security plan. The force stressed that no Serbian police officers joined the operation.

“The claim that police officers from Serbia took part is entirely untrue,” the police said. The statement directly rejected the allegations circulating on social media.

The police also warned that spreading false claims could damage public confidence in state institutions. It described the reports as an attempt to provoke nationalist sentiment and create a climate of confrontation. The force reaffirmed that its own personnel handled security at the gathering.
