Talented mathematics student Marius Gjika won the silver medal at the International Summer Mathematics Camp Olympiad held in Beijing, China.
Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro congratulated Gjika and the Albanian team, saying the achievement represents a source of pride for the country. Following this success, the Albanian mathematics team has traveled to Shanghai to participate in the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad.
The IMO 2026 team has spent the past two weeks in Beijing attending the IMSC 2026 international mathematics training camp. Around 400 students from national teams representing nearly 50 countries participated in the camp.
The training program served as the final preparation stage before the team competes in the 2026 International Mathematical Olympiad.
