Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs condemns Russian strikes on Ukraine as violations of international humanitarian law

TIRANA, April 16 – Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha condemned the latest wave of Russian strikes on Ukraine. He said drone and missile attacks hit civilian areas and caused casualties, including children.

Hoxha expressed solidarity with victims, the injured, and their families. He said the attacks targeted civilians and critical infrastructure. He described the strikes as unacceptable under international humanitarian law.

In a statement on social media, the minister called for an immediate end to such attacks. He said continued strikes against civilian targets constitute serious violations of international norms.

Albania reaffirmed its support for Ukraine and its population. Hoxha called for sustained international backing and increased pressure on Russia to halt the attacks and ensure accountability.
