TIRANA, August 24 – The first round of Albania’s top-flight football league has ended, with all five matches played over three days.
The opening round began on Friday with Vllaznia and Skënderbeu drawing 2-2. On Saturday, Partizani and Teuta played out a 0-0 draw, while Laçi and AF Elbasani finished 1-1.
Meanwhile, the final two matches took place on Sunday at 21:00. Vora defeated Dinamo City 1-0, while reigning champions Egnatia beat Tirana 3-0 at Arena Egnatia.
Before the Egnatia-Tirana match, organisers held the official opening ceremony for the new season at Arena Egnatia. They chose the venue because Egnatia is competing in European competitions. The champions then began their title defence with a convincing victory over Tirana.
