Ambassador Wendt meets SPAK chief to discuss fight against transnational crime

The fight against transnational crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration took center stage at a meeting between US Ambassador to Albania Eric Wendt and SPAK chief Klodian Braho.

Wendt also met with Joni Keta, head of the National Bureau of Investigation.

The US Embassy in Tirana said the meetings focused on the role of independent institutions in addressing these challenges.

The embassy also said that the Trump administration considers the fight against transnational crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration among its key priorities.

Meanwhile, the officials discussed cooperation between the United States and Albania. They also examined how the partnership can strengthen security.

“The fight against transnational crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration is among President Donald Trump’s key priorities,” the US Embassy said.

The embassy added that Ambassador Wendt met with SPAK leaders to discuss the crucial role of independent institutions in addressing these challenges. It also highlighted the role of the US-Albania partnership in building a safer and more prosperous future for both countries.
