TIRANA, July 16 – The integration of artificial intelligence into the film industry and the need for a legal framework for its use topped the agenda at a roundtable organised by Albania’s National Center of Cinematography during the International AI Film Festival.
Film professionals, including director Fatmir Koçi, Professor Shpend Bengu, producer Vjollca Dedei, Adrian Grezda and Marjela Zajmi, discussed the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence brings to the audiovisual sector.
Meanwhile, National Center of Cinematography Director Jonid Jorgji stressed the need for a clear legal framework. He said such legislation is essential to protect copyright while allowing technological innovation to develop alongside creative work.
In addition, Jorgji said artificial intelligence should serve as a tool to support the film industry. He added that the institution will place special emphasis on education and training to strengthen filmmakers’ skills in using these technologies.
Participants agreed that artificial intelligence can help modernise film production. They also said it can strengthen the competitiveness of the audiovisual industry and prepare it for future challenges and developments.
