Athletes from Albania and the Region Compete in 14th “Labeat” Triathlon

Shirokë, on the shores of Lake Shkodra, hosted the 14th edition of the “Labeat” Triathlon, bringing together athletes from Albania and across the region.

The event combines swimming, cycling and running, creating a demanding competition that tests athletes across three disciplines. This year’s edition attracted around 90 competitors from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage from the event on social media. He highlighted how the triathlon brought athletes from Albania and the region together for a competition that combines swimming, cycling and running.

Rama described the event as “a sporting tradition that promotes an active lifestyle and highlights the potential of Lake Shkodra for sports and outdoor tourism.”

The organizers held the “Labeat” Triathlon in cooperation with the Municipality of Shkodër. The event aims to promote sport and active living while encouraging wider public participation.

Furthermore, the growing number of participants continues to strengthen the triathlon’s role as a sporting tradition in Shirokë. By combining sport with nature promotion, the event also helps position Shkodër as a destination for sporting activities and outdoor tourism.
