Attack at Trump dinner, Vjosa Osmani reacts

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reacted to the shooting reported during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Osmani wrote that Kosovo believes in the resilience of the United States and its institutions, and that they remain steadfast partners in promoting peace, security, and stability around the world.

She added that the United States remains the greatest defender of freedom and democracy, and that no act of violence will ever diminish this.

“Sending prayers and solidarity to President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and the American people following last night’s cowardly attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. We believe in the resilience of the United States and its institutions, and we remain unwavering partners in promoting peace, security, and stability worldwide.

We are grateful for the bravery of the U.S. Secret Service agents who acted swiftly and heroically to protect the President and all attendees. Their courage helped prevent a national tragedy. The United States remains the greatest defender of freedom and democracy. No act of violence will ever diminish this,” Osmani wrote.
