TIRANA, July 22 – The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy said emergency teams have been working since the first hours of the severe weather that hit Albania on Tuesday evening to restore normal conditions.
Heavy rain and strong winds caused disruptions in several areas, while responsible structures continue efforts to address the consequences.
In the energy sector, 21 power feeders remain out of service across the country, mainly in the regions of Vlora, Fier, Saranda and Librazhd. The Distribution System Operator has deployed more than 1,000 workers to repair faults and restore electricity supplies. Meanwhile, the Livadhja substation resumed operation in the early morning, restoring power to several areas.
Road teams from the Albanian Road Authority monitored the situation and cleared fallen rocks and debris. All national roads remain open and traffic is operating normally.
The ministry also reported that the transmission network is functioning normally, with all 400 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV lines in operation. The Drin River cascade is also stable.
Meanwhile, water supply services in several areas are being restored after temporary disruptions. In Durrës Port, the storm damaged 8 empty containers, while operations in other port sectors continue normally. Tirana Airport reported only minor delays caused by weather conditions. The Saranda-Korfu ferry line is operating normally.
