Balkan Mixed Martial Arts Championship, Albania wins four bronze medals in Belgrade

TIRANA, May 13 – The Albanian Mixed Martial Arts Federation took part in the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation Balkan Championship held from May 7 to 10 in Belgrade, Serbia. The federation said the team completed its participation successfully and delivered a strong performance at international level.

Turning to competition details, more than 150 athletes from 12 countries and international teams took part in the event. They competed in over 120 official bouts. Albania secured four medals in total.

In the Youth A Featherweight 65.8 kg category, Alkeo Bici won a silver medal. In the Juniors Lightweight 70.3 kg category, Jorig Daci secured a bronze medal for Albania.

In addition, Renis Hysa won bronze in the Youth B 67 kg category. Noel Ndrecaj also claimed bronze in Youth B 72 kg. Meanwhile, Gersi Aliu finished fifth in his international debut in Youth A Featherweight 65.8 kg.

Beyond the results, the federation said the participation reflected discipline, respect, self-control and sacrifice. It said these values are key to the education and development of young athletes. Albania continues to raise its flag in the international mixed martial arts arena.
