Socialist Party parliamentary group leader Taulant Balla said Albania aims to conclude European Union accession negotiations by 2027.
Balla made the statement during an official visit to the Bundestag in Berlin.
During the visit, he met Anton Hofreiter and members of the Bundestag Committee on European Union Affairs.
At the same time, Balla thanked the German parliament and the Federal Government for their continued support for Albania’s EU integration process.
Furthermore, he rejected claims that Albania’s negotiations with the European Union have stalled.
“Who said the negotiations are blocked?” Balla wrote on social media while highlighting Albania’s progress toward EU membership.
Meanwhile, the meeting in Berlin comes at an important moment for Albania’s integration process. Germany’s support remains key for advancing accession talks.
Since Monday, Balla and National Council for European Integration co-chair Jorida Tabaku, together with Foreign Affairs Committee chair Igli Hasani, have been holding meetings with German institutions.
German State Minister for Europe Gunther Krichbaum invited the Albanian delegation to discuss EU membership and the future of advanced candidate countries.
