Deputy Socialist Party MP and former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku attended memorial ceremonies in Lushnjë on Martyrs’ Day.
She joined the event alongside Finance Minister Petrit Malaj, Lushnjë Mayor Eriselda Sefa, and other state and political representatives.
She laid wreaths at the Partizane Monument. She honored those who fell during the country’s liberation struggle.
She said Albania’s 28,000 martyrs remain a guiding example. She stressed that their sacrifice calls for unity and collective work for the country.
She said citizens should remember the men and women who gave their lives for freedom and dignity. She said their legacy continues to guide national responsibility.
She underlined that Albania is the country where people are born and must work together to build its future.
May 5 marks Martyrs’ Day in Albania. It is a national day of remembrance for those who gave their lives for freedom, independence, and democracy.
Ceremonies take place annually at Martyrs’ Cemeteries across the country, including in Tirana and other municipalities.
