Bank of Albania: Business confidence rises in March

TIRANA, April 1 – Business confidence in Albania increased in March, according to a report published today by the Bank of Albania. The overall economic sentiment improved slightly, mainly due to stronger confidence in the trade sector, and remains well above its historical average.

Confidence in the industrial sector declined after several months of growth. Businesses reported less optimistic expectations for industrial production and export orders, while future price expectations rose significantly.

In the construction sector, confidence fell, influenced by lower evaluations of current construction activity and orders. Expectations for future prices also increased, though the level remains above its historical average.

Service sector confidence decreased slightly but is still well above historical levels. The drop reflects assessments of demand and current activity, while businesses expect higher prices in the future.

Confidence in trade rose sharply, driven by optimistic expectations for sales and future employment, along with higher future price expectations.

Consumer confidence declined, influenced by concerns about personal finances and the overall economic outlook, although plans for major purchases contributed positively.

Overall, the report shows that despite declines in some sectors, general economic sentiment remains above historical averages, reflecting a stable economy with positive expectations in key areas.
