TIRANA, September 1 – Economic confidence in Albania improved in August, led by construction, while trade and services also recorded gains, according to the Bank of Albania.
The Economic Sentiment Indicator rose by 1.8 points and stood 7.4 points above its historical average. Construction recorded the strongest increase, with confidence rising by 4.7 percentage points to 10.3 points above its historical average. Trade confidence increased by 2.1 points, while services rose by 1.8 points.
Meanwhile, industrial confidence fell by 1.2 points from July but remained 6.4 points above its historical average. Consumer confidence increased by 0.8 points and reached 2.2 points above its historical average.
The Bank of Albania survey covers industry, construction, services, trade and consumers. It measures perceptions of current economic developments and expectations for the period ahead.
