Begaj: Strong NATO Cooperation and Regional Security Require More Investment

President Bajram Begaj received the Chief of General Staff of North Macedonia, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, in Tirana. The two sides focused on strengthening defense and security cooperation between the two NATO allies.

In addition, they discussed the importance of regional coordination in addressing current security challenges. Begaj praised North Macedonia’s contribution to NATO missions.

Moreover, he stressed that new geopolitical dynamics require higher investment in security and defense. He also highlighted the strategic importance of Corridor VIII for the region and for the Alliance.

Furthermore, Begaj called for increased contributions to collective defense efforts. Finally, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deeper cooperation within the framework of NATO.
