Bënja Spa Rehabilitation Continues, Boosting Tourism Potential

Work on the rehabilitation of the Bënja thermal baths continues steadily. The project aims to improve tourist infrastructure, organize visitor services, and protect the area’s unique natural values.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment clarified that the destination remains under development. Therefore, recently published images show temporary construction stages rather than the final appearance of the site.

Despite the ongoing works, tourist interest remains strong. In 2025, more than 103,000 domestic and international visitors explored the area, confirming Bënja’s importance as one of Albania’s leading natural attractions.

In addition, authorities are carrying out the interventions in harmony with the environment. Visitors continue to enjoy the thermal baths and other attractions while the project progresses.

Furthermore, the National Agency of Protected Areas closely monitors the works to ensure the preservation of Bënja’s natural heritage and support sustainable tourism development.

Once completed, the upgraded destination will offer an even better visitor experience by combining natural beauty, history, unique landscapes, and modern tourism standards.
