“Between Form and Spirit”: The Artistic Legacy of Painter Kristi Baba

Galeria FAB opened its doors last night for the exhibition “Between Form and Spirit”, honoring the work of the late artist Kristi Baba.

Baba passed away in 2021 at the age of 30 due to COVID-19. He was known for his graphic cycles and mixed techniques, blending the human figure with surreal elements. One of his most notable exhibitions was “Sunduku” (The Coffer) at the National History Museum.

Family, friends, and art enthusiasts attended the opening. They paid tribute to Baba’s life and work. Several artists and colleagues joined as well, honoring his artistic contribution.

Ardian Isufi and the renowned artist and professor Zef Paci curated the exhibition. It will remain open to the public until April 13.

Isufi wrote in the curatorial text: “Baba’s work reflects a sensitive territory where life and art merge fluidly, creating a visual language drawn from personal experience and inner reflection.”

The artist’s legacy carries a unique intensity. His works show fragments of a larger search and a personal effort to understand reality through feeling and thought.

Isufi describes Baba as an unlimited dreamer. He quotes Edgar Allan Poe: “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”

Baba’s pieces in this exhibition balance between reality and imagination. They invite interpretation and personal engagement.
