Blendi Gonxhja: Albania hosts world padel elite in Tirana

Blendi Gonxhja announces that Albania will host the world padel elite at the “FIP Platinum Albania 2026” tournament in Tirana, scheduled for May 26–30 at Skanderbeg Square.

He holds a joint press conference with Luigi Carraro, highlighting the event’s international importance.

Gonxhja states that the tournament proves Albania’s organizational capacity and its commitment to major global sports calendars. He emphasizes that the country welcomes top athletes, coaches, experts, and international media.

He says Albania grows more visible and competitive in the international sports arena. He also notes that padel continues to expand rapidly worldwide, combining sport, entertainment, and business opportunities.

He explains that the sport offers strong potential for young people in Albania. He links the event to long-term investment in sports infrastructure.

Authorities build four new courts for the tournament, which will remain as a permanent asset for the national federation.

Gonxhja says the event increases Albania’s visibility, strengthens its image as a reliable destination for international events, and boosts tourism and local economic activity.

Luigi Carraro confirms that padel continues to grow internationally and highlights opportunities for Albanian athletes to compete with global champions.
