Borsh Castle to open as new museum site

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Blendi Gonxhja shared updates on restoration works at Kalaja e Borshit.

First, authorities carry out major restoration works. They aim to preserve the monument and improve visitor experience. Next, the project restores and stabilizes the castle structures. It also renovates the mosque inside the fortress.

Then, teams add new architectural elements. They install interpretive panels, a viewing platform, and artistic lighting.

Moreover, the project receives funding from the World Bank. It is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund in cooperation with national and local institutions.

After completion, the castle will open as a museum site. Visitors will enter with a ticket for the first time.

Finally, officials aim to turn Borsh Castle into a structured tourist destination. They promote it as part of Albania’s cultural heritage network.
