Burned Apartment Building in Tirana: Edi Rama Reacts

This Wednesday, Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted to the fire that engulfed an apartment building in a complex in the “Farmacia 10” area of Tirana, an घटना that occurred a day earlier.

In his response, the head of government stressed that the damaged building will be fully rebuilt by the developer itself, underlining that, according to preliminary data, the cause of the fire is not related to the construction of the building. He also emphasized the importance of home insurance and the responsibility of insurance companies in such cases.

Full statement by Prime Minister Edi Rama:

“The building that burned yesterday in Tirana will be rebuilt 100% by the developer itself, regardless of the fact that, based on preliminary data, the cause of the fire has no connection with the construction itself! Because we cannot leave affected people alone with the damage to their property, and on the other hand, taxpayers cannot pay for damage that should be covered by insurance — a meaningful case for everyone to understand that insuring homes against disasters is essential. In any case, I tell all affected families to feel reassured on this matter and wish them only good health, while sincerely thanking the firefighters and law enforcement forces for their heroic work in saving all lives at risk.”
