Business turnover rises by ALL 127 billion in first half of 2026

TIRANA, August 7 – Business turnover across Albania’s main economic sectors increased by ALL 127 billion during the first half of 2026, reflecting stronger economic activity, Finance Minister Petrit Malaj said.

Malaj said business turnover rose by 7% compared with the same period in 2025. He added that the figures confirm a more dynamic and increasingly formal economy.

According to the minister, higher turnover reflects the positive performance of the Albanian economy. He said stronger formalization also supports a broader tax base and creates more opportunities for investment and development.

Meanwhile, trade recorded the strongest growth. The sector expanded by 10% during the first six months of the year. Construction followed with a 9% increase. Services grew by 4%, while manufacturing posted a 2% rise.

Malaj said the latest figures confirm the continued expansion of business activity across the country. He added that the results are consistent with other economic indicators that have improved during 2026.
