TIRANA, August 14 – Butrint hosted the first information session on the Community Grants Scheme, an initiative of the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) and the Butrint Management Foundation (BMF).
The scheme supports new initiatives and existing projects that aim to create a positive impact in the local community. Individuals, local businesses and non-profit organisations operating or living in the Butrint area can apply.
Meanwhile, the initiative aims to encourage community involvement and support projects that contribute to the area’s social, economic and cultural development.
Applications remain open until October 15, 2026. Successful applicants can receive grants of up to $20,000.
The call covers Vrina, Shëndëlli, Xarra, Çiflik and Mursi. It also includes other rural areas bordering Butrint National Park. The Integrated Management Plan identifies these areas as priorities for economic, social and tourism development.
