Call to protect the clean beauty of the Albanian Alps

TIRANA, July 10 – The mountains are among Albania’s greatest natural treasures, while the Albanian Alps remain one of the country’s most visited areas. Protecting their cleanliness requires everyone’s commitment.

Tour guide Kastriot Faci says foreign visitors show greater awareness when it comes to protecting nature. He adds that many local residents still need more awareness about preserving this valuable natural heritage.

Faci explained that visitors cannot fully enjoy a beautiful landscape when they find plastic waste and litter along the way. He stressed that a clean environment creates a better experience for both people and nature.

Meanwhile, nature activist Nermin Shurdha called for stronger awareness among visitors and communities to keep mountain areas clean.

She noted that hiking trails usually remain clean because many people who visit the mountains understand the importance of protecting nature. However, she pointed out that lower mountain areas, where businesses operate, often face greater challenges with waste management.

The Albanian Alps continue to attract visitors throughout the year. Therefore, preserving their natural beauty remains essential for sustainable tourism and future generations.
