Chief Inspector: Environmental protection tops inspection priorities

TIRANA, July 2 – Chief Inspector Dashnor Sula described Berat County as one of Albania’s most important tourist destinations, highlighting its strategic role in both the summer season and year-round tourism.

Speaking to reporters before a training session for inspectors in Berat, Sula said the General Inspectorate will focus on strengthening oversight and inspections to protect the environment.

He said inspectors will pay particular attention to safeguarding rivers, forests and natural ecosystems from the impact of economic activities, including quarry operations.

Meanwhile, Sula announced the creation of a working group to identify and assess key environmental issues. He said the initiative will support a new inspection approach based on risk assessment, environmental damage prevention and stronger coordination among state institutions.
