Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman described Albania as a reliable economic partner. Speaking alongside Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha, Radman said the two countries have strong potential to expand economic cooperation.
He identified transport, infrastructure, energy, and defence as key areas for closer collaboration. Radman also called for direct transport links between Albania and Croatia.
“Dubrovnik is only 270 kilometres from Tirana, yet the journey takes about six hours. We need direct connections,” he said.
He added that better links would strengthen cooperation and increase exchanges between the two countries. Radman also highlighted cooperation in defence and the protection of the Adriatic Sea.
He reaffirmed Croatia’s support for the Adriatic-Ionian Corridor and the Adriatic-Ionian Gas Pipeline. He said both projects would improve regional connectivity, energy security, and economic growth.
The ministers also discussed defence cooperation, police cooperation, migration management, and border security.
Radman thanked Albania for its active participation in the Three Seas Initiative. He welcomed the participation of President Bajram Begaj and Albanian companies at the business forum in Dubrovnik.
Finally, Radman reaffirmed Croatia’s support for the European integration of the Western Balkans. He said each country should advance based on its own merits.
