Cultural week features films, theater, and exhibitions in Albania

This week features a rich calendar of cultural and artistic events in Albania.

The “Italian Screens – Il Nuovo Cinema Italiano” cycle presents Italian films until April 25. Screenings take place in Tirana, Vlora, Shkodra, and Prishtina. The program promotes cultural dialogue between Italy, Albania, and Kosovo. One of the films shown is “Le città di pianura” by Francesco Sossai at Kinema Millennium.

The National Experimental Theatre “Kujtim Spahivogli” stages the comedy “Sonte do darkojmë në shtrat.” The Puppet Theatre presents “Shtëpiakë të dëshpëruar” from April 20 to 22.

Several exhibitions open in Tirana. “Zemrat mes andej dhe këtej” by Jutta Benzenberg is shown at COD Library. “Pranverart” opens at the Tirana Art Gallery.

The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet hosts a gala concert with “3 Spanish Tenors” on April 21. The RTSH Symphony Orchestra performs works by Beethoven and Haydn on April 24.

The International Student Film Festival runs from April 21 to 24 at the University of Arts.

The cultural event “Sofra e Tiranës” takes place on April 22 at the Palace of Congresses.

The opera “Misa a Buenos Aires” blends sacred music with Argentine tango. It features mezzo-soprano Vikena Kamenica, the ballet troupe, and choreography by Enada Hoxha.
