Customs Approve New Guarantee Rules to Ease Business Procedures

Albania’s Customs Authority has approved a new instruction on global guarantees. It aims to simplify procedures for businesses. It also reduces administrative costs.

Customs Director General Besmir Beja signed the new manual. It sets standard procedures for global guarantees, reduced guarantees, and exemptions. It also defines how these tools will be applied in practice.

The manual provides clearer guidance for economic operators. It improves transparency in customs processes. It also supports faster decision-making.

A global guarantee allows businesses to cover multiple customs operations under one system. Meanwhile, reduced guarantees lower financial obligations. In addition, exemptions remove the need for guarantees for trusted operators.

Initially, these benefits will apply to Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs). As a result, certified companies will gain financial advantages. They will also benefit from simpler procedures.

To qualify, businesses must operate in Albania. They must be registered in the customs system. They must also maintain a clean payment record.

Furthermore, companies must show financial stability. They must prove reliability in meeting obligations. In this way, customs ensures trust in the system.

Overall, the new manual strengthens efficiency in customs operations. It also supports trade facilitation. Consequently, it helps improve the business environment in Albania.
