Czech Tourists Choose the Shkumbin River: Albania an Ideal Destination for Nature Adventures

Adventure tourists from the Czech Republic have chosen the Shkumbin River and Albania’s natural landscapes for an active holiday filled with packrafting, camping, and exploring mountainous areas. Visitors praise the scenery, hospitality, and authenticity which, according to them, make Albania an ideal destination for adventure tourism.

The group of Czech tourists, who have been visiting Albania for around 10 years, is this time undertaking an adventure along the Shkumbin River, covering stretches of up to 20 kilometers.

“We will stay ten days in Albania and four days in Macedonia. Here, we will travel by packraft for up to 20 kilometers. The water level has risen after the rain, so we will not continue further because the area is difficult and full of rocks. In Albania, I have also visited the Kir, Shala, Fan i Madh, Fan i Vogël, White Drin, Black Drin rivers, as well as the Korab and Jezerca mountain areas,” one of the tourists said.

The Czech tourists say that Albania remains for them a wild and authentic destination where many outdoor activities can be enjoyed, from kayaking to camping in mountainous regions. They particularly appreciate Albanian hospitality and traditional food.

Tourist Statement:

“Today is our first day in Albania. We want to go down along the Shkumbin River. There is an old bridge and a somewhat dangerous area, so we will stop before that section. Last night we stayed in a small village called Selcë. There are good hotels and traditional food. We really like Albania and would love to return to learn more about the local history.”

Another tourist described Albania as an ideal country for outdoor adventures throughout the year.

“For us, Albania is still a wild and authentic country. Here you can do everything: kayaking, camping, hiking in the mountains. The hospitality is extraordinary. We really enjoy the traditional products, especially goat and sheep cheese, as well as lamb meat. For us, it is a different and very interesting experience,” said another tourist.

The Czech tourists say they would like to return to Albania again to discover more of the country’s history and nature, describing it as an ideal destination for active holidays throughout the year.
