The Ministry of Defense has provided the latest update on the wildfire situation across the country. According to the update issued at 09:00 on September 1, 2026, a total of 27 wildfires were reported over the past 24 hours, of which 4 remain active, while another 4 are under monitoring.
A total of 432 operational personnel and 43 fire engines have been deployed to deal with the situation, supported by 70 military personnel and 3 Air Force helicopters.
Today, 90 military personnel are expected to be deployed in the municipalities of Bulqizë, Mat and Tirana.
In Dajt, Tirana, active fires continue toward Qafë-Priskë. Yesterday, 15 firefighters, 9 personnel from the Administration of Protected Areas, 20 military personnel and one helicopter were deployed to the area. According to the authorities, there is no risk to residential areas.
In Vajkal, Bulqizë, the fire remains active across a large area of shrubs and juniper on rocky terrain. Eleven firefighters, 5 forestry personnel, 7 volunteers and 30 military personnel have been deployed to extinguish the blaze.
In Lundre, Mat, the fire continues across a considerable forested area. Forty firefighters and forestry personnel, 20 military personnel and one helicopter have been deployed in the operation.
Meanwhile, at Ura e Shtrenjtë in Shkodër, an active fire continues in steep terrain. Teams on the ground are working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.
Fires at Qafa e Helmës in Bulqizë, Qafa e Lugut in Korçë, Mount Qukës in Prrenjas and Zhejë in Kurbin remain under monitoring.
According to the Ministry of Defense, none of these fires currently pose a risk to residential areas.
The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) continues to monitor the situation across the country around the clock, in coordination with prefectures, municipalities and other Civil Protection structures.
Operational resources remain deployed on the ground and on standby to intervene wherever necessary, with priority given to protecting lives, homes and citizens’ property.
