She spoke during a visit to an olive oil processing business. Edi Rama and other cabinet members were present. First, she stressed higher standards in production. She said agriculture and agro-processing must improve to enter the EU market.
Then, she highlighted a new model of cooperation. Over 70 olive oil producers formed a consortium. She said this reduces costs and increases profits. In addition, she announced government support. She mentioned a program called “Double the Enterprise.” She said it will fund business development plans.
Moreover, she said new technology is important. She pointed to modern machinery that improves product quality for export. She also said EU integration transforms businesses. She explained that EU standards will become mandatory for the domestic market too.
Therefore, she urged companies to invest now. She said they must prepare early for EU requirements. Furthermore, she noted export growth in recent years. She said Albanian food products are gaining foreign demand.
Finally, she said the government will continue supporting agriculture. She called it a key pillar of economic development.
