Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha announced today that Luxair will launch direct flights between Luxembourg and Tirana. Hoxha welcomed the arrival of another European airline in Albania. He described the development as excellent news for the country.
Starting March 29, 2027, Luxair will operate the new route throughout the year. The airline will offer two flights per week, on Mondays and Fridays. The route will create the first regular direct air connection between Luxembourg and Albania.
“This is a new and welcome connection. It will bring the people, businesses and communities of the two countries even closer,” Hoxha wrote on X.
The announcement follows a meeting between Hoxha and Luxair CEO Gilles Feith earlier this year.
On April 21, the minister visited Luxair’s headquarters. During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of establishing direct flights between Luxembourg and Tirana.
