“Double Your Business” scheme, Finance Minister: sovereign guarantee and negotiations on loan terms

TIRANA, April 30 – Finance Minister Petrit Malaj says the new programme “Double Your Business” will be launched soon.

He speaks during a press conference on the first-quarter fiscal performance. He says the scheme remains in the preparation phase.

The Ministry of Finance negotiates with the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Bank of Albania, and second-tier banks. The talks focus on loan conditions and financial terms for the mechanism.

After the negotiations conclude, the parties will sign an agreement. The government will then present the programme publicly and announce the financial product.

In parallel, the government will introduce a normative act. The act will include a state guarantee. It follows a model already used in the agricultural sector.

Malaj says the scheme targets business expansion. It aims to increase company capacity and improve productivity.
